In heavy rain Reg and I were cycling beside Loch Awe towards Ford when we encountered Eddie birling along in the opposite direction. He was awa’ hame after a bad experience on the sodden route from Ford to Carron. We failed to coax him into following us to Carron bothy via the forestry roads after he checked the map and found no roads shown through the woods
