busMoved from the 7th due to pretty awful weather.

Not by any means an epic ride being just shy of 17 miles with 850' of up and down in total.

Starting from the War Memorial car park in Whittle we head for the canal and follow this to Adlington and the Boatyard bus for a coffee and in my case a toasted bacon sandwich (recommended). We then head up through the village and over to Rivington to take the off road track to just below Alance Bridge before dropping down again to head over Healy Nab and into White Coppice. From There we'll head back to Wheelton to pick up the canal and return to the start.

If you use three words to finfd the car park  use these: flagging.poorly.system

Starting Point
Whittle Le Woods War Memorial car park
Preston Road
Whittle Le Woods
Lancashire
PR6 7HW
UK

The car park entrance is small and not easily noticed.  Approching Factory Lane from Chorley it is immediately next to factory lane and from Preston immediately before, it is free to park here. Factory Lane itself is next to St Johns school and opposite the local chemist.. Click me for a link to google map street view

Alternative parking can be had on Factory Lane itself or at either end of Cuerdon valley park itself althought this is not free!
