The RSF admin team must also point out that rides designated as members rides are precisely that, rides organised by a member and advertised here in case other members may wish to join them. We also request that all members putting a ride on add their name to the RSF ride leaders list to be covered under our insurance which you can read here. Adding your name is as simple as emailing the secretary and requesting your name be added to our ride leaders list.
A ride from Chadkirk and back

As part of my New Years resolution ? I intend to try and put a ride on at least once a month. Let’s see how long it lasts ?

Wednesday 18th Jan 2023, 10.00 for a 10.15AM ride off.
I plan to ride up to and along the Middlewood Way and into Lyme Park (coffee) then up to the Bow Stones and along the Sponds Hill Ridge, drop down into Bollington for lunch at the Clarence Mill Cafe by the canal. Those that don’t fancy the ride UP and along the Sponds Hill Ridge can stay longer in Lyme Park and beat ‘us’ to Bollington along the canal.
I’ll provide instructions or a map.
From Bollington, I plan to return via the Middlewood Way to Higher Poynton, then via the canal to back to Marple down the locks, over the Goyt Aqueduct and drop back down to Chadkirk from near Hyde Bank tunnel.
The total ride is about 27miles but missing out the ‘Bow Stones and Sponds Ridge’ is perhaps 6 miles shorter and a lot less strenuous.
