A 44 km route from Camprodon to Ribes de Freser in the Catalan Pyrenees that uses the Cami de Fontlletera. The start and end sections are on sealed roads but there is 20 odd km of rough-stuff: gravel veering into stones/rocks. I rode it with 700x37 tyres and, with careful selection of the lines I took, coped fine. Camprodon and Ribes de Freser are at 900 m altitude, the Cami de Fontlletera tops out at just over 2000 m (Collet de la Gralla). Plenty of drinking / eating options in the villages passed through (Camprodon / Llanars / Vilallonga de Ter / Tregura de Dalt / Ribes de Freser). A water tap in the Placa de St Julia in Tregura de Dalt is the last one before the Cami de Fontlletera begins. There are streams too past the Collet de la Gralla but filter. |
