A narrow walled bridlepath crosses a ford to join an unsurfaced road up to Crummack Farm. From here the going gets steep as the track circles round up a steep grassy slope. Once on the top it's easy going with a flat grassy bridlepath to Selside. The track is waymarked later on.
Great views can be had across the valley towards Pen-y-Ghent. Classic limestone scenery.
