From Threlkeld a road climbs up to Blencathra Field Centre where the track starts.
A rideable track for nearly two miles turns to footpath at ford and footbridge. There is about a quarter mile of walking past a sheep fold and then its rideable again. Once the track starts there is not much climbing. This is the easiest way up to Skiddaw House.
From Skiddaw House there is a choice. You can go down Mosedale pictured right, or you can go to Bassenthwaite via Dash Falls which is the more ridable of the two options.
